Community Values
Our Relational Covenant
As a community, whether online or in-person, we commit to upholding the following values:
We will see each other through the eyes of Jesus. There are no VIPs in the Kingdom of God. Everyone here are daughters and sons of the King, made in His image, and will be treated with such respect. We will be coaches not competitors.
In this community, we commit to encouraging, mentoring, speaking loving truth when needed, and collaborating with one another. This is not a platform for competition.
We will be champions for each other
We will lift one another up by sharing the good skills and qualities of our sisters in the spaces where they are not, for their own professional advancement.
We will be graceful towards one another
Misunderstandings happen when you can’t see someone's face or hear someone’s voice. We will assume the best of each other and extend grace towards one another in all our online communication.
We will take opportunities for teachable moments
Not everyone in The Alliance is an expert in your culture or shares your views. When you hear something said or read something written that might be insensitive to other cultures or people groups, use that as a gentle moment to connect with the author/speaker one-to-one and share that lesson – always with love and kindness.
The Alliance platform guidelines
Our online platform, forums, discussion boards, and social media, are meant to be safe spaces for women and men to connect, learn, encourage, share opportunities, and collaborate together.
To ensure our learning platform is a safe and productive space, please be aware of our community rules:
No fundraising requests or sales pitches
Everyone in the Alliance works for nonprofits that are in constant need of resources. Please don’t use the space for personal fundraising requests.
For consultants, businesses, and contractors, the Alliance platform is not a place to solicit customers. You are allowed to share your work and services, but members that repeatedly try to sell their services on the platform will be removed. We have sponsorship options available if you would like to feature your organization and/or its work. Inquire at [email protected]
What’s on the platform, stays on the platform
Resources, contacts, posts and communication shared on the Alliance platform are to stay on the Alliance platform. Please do not use or disseminate members’ views, contact details or other content posted with people outside the Alliance unless permission is granted by that person first.
Sharing public posts on social media from the Alliance or other members’ feeds to your personal contacts and feeds is permitted.
Agree to disagree
The Alliance is made up of a diverse group of women and men who come from different cultures, nationalities, backgrounds, races, denominations, and may hold different theological beliefs. Our learning platform is to be a safe space for all to come together despite our differences around shared goals and beliefs.
Therefore, the Alliance platform is not a place for theological or political debate, fake news or gossip, and such will not be tolerated. Those who continue to post such content will be removed by administrators.
Zero tolerance for bullying and harassment
We hold zero tolerance for any speech that is hateful, defamatory, antagonistic, racist or misogynist. Any member who writes and/or engages with such speech will be removed from the Alliance platform immediately.
No spam is allowed
No member is permitted to solicit money, goods, or services – with the exception of job postings – through the platform. The Alliance will never post anything that resembles spam, nor ask for money that is not directly related to supporting and expanding the Alliance’s mission.
The platform company uses high level security standards to prevent hacking and spam, however, if you are ever contacted requesting money, please do not give out any financial information to anyone on behalf of The Alliance. We will alert you on the platform for those times when we conduct fundraising and advocacy campaigns and communication will come by way of the email address @the-christianalliance.org. If you see a suspected scam - alert us at [email protected]iance.org
Must be affiliated with global development or an advocate for the mission
The Alliance platform is a space for women and men who work in global development and/or serve with an NGO, INGO, NPO, FBO to learn from one another.
If you do not work or are affiliated directly with global development, then you affirm you are committed to advocating for our common causes, including: 1) the advancement of women in global development, 2) the betterment of women and girls affected by poverty, 3) the empowerment of women of color and women from the Global South, and 4) the improvement of organizational cultures.
Let’s reflect the type of community that would honor the God we love and serve! Thank you!
